
I can't see it.
I can't imagine it.
With my life, it's just not realistic.
It might work for other people, but not me.
Why can't I get there?
Supposedly the average person has about 50,000 thoughts/day.
The types of phrases above are common in the mind when it comes to Joy. Or Love. Or Peace. Or Ease. These great longings in the soul will not go away until they are experienced. Your most natural states are Love. Peace. Ease. Joy. And most people want more of these states throughout their days.
So what to do?
At least start here.
Know that you will not ever have sustainable, lasting states of Love, Peace, Ease or Joy when your nervous system is addicted to patterns of overwhelm or chaos.
These may appear in ways that seem absolutely out of your control, such as:
1. aging parents in need
2. child(ren) requiring attention, acting out or experiencing symptoms that worry you
3. your work or clients cannot do without you a certain number of hours/day
4. your health or body is calling for attention in loud ways i.e. can't sleep, have pain, dificulty digesting, illness
5. you or loved one goes through an accident
6. the school, workplace, church or community really needs you again
....and many more
All of these experiences are real. This is undeniable.
What we are all still learning as a larger collective is that the internal energy system creates reality. It creates all physical symptoms, it creates external reality as well and is always creating in conjunction with the energy systems of those it is in connection with. This is not a reason to blame, get discouraged or feel hopeless. But it is an opportunity to learn and to choose, again and again, what you most want.
When it comes to re-patterning a nervous system (which is inherited and impacted in the earliest years), there is much more detail that could be described but what is most important to the daily living of your life now is that you choose to learn how to undo the root causes of the patterning that seeks overwhelm or overdoing. It requires undoing beliefs, physiological and physical practices and it will completely change your life!
Overwhelm, chaos and JOY are competely incompatible. Adrenal stress and JOY are incompatible.
Overwhelm and stress addiction will always block joy. Instead the body will drop into patterns of exhaustion or depression (sometimes hopelessness).
Creating new neural networks of Joy, Gratitude, Loving Kindness, Calm, Appreciation, Compassion, Honesty, etc., within yourself and towards yourself is super helpful because this can enhance your desires for the good stuff. And sometimes you may not have the energy for these basics.
So please, prioritize you. Prioritize your renewal. Know that it is possible.
And it can be easier and faster than you think.
