As I watch a mountain climber who must get to the next peak, I see myself in them. I see the search for Freedom. I see the search for the Divine.
A skydiving adrenaline junkie seeking the high or the elite athlete driven to achieve, I see the search for Aliveness. In the search for the edge of capability, the very edge of courage or the edge of belief in oneself, I see the willingness to touch Life again and again and again.
Each and every time a peak is reached or an achievement is accomplished, there is a moment of release, relaxation or rest, maybe peace. For some it may be very short, almost imperceptible. For others they may take hours or weeks to bask in the completion of another goal attained.
Consider all that is conquered to achieve any significant external result. These experiences describe a certain way of healing through outside experiences. It is good and healthy and helpful to challenge oneself.
For an individual who has achieved many things and witnessed them materialized in the outer world, it may be very uncomfortable to pay much attention to the inside and questionable whether it is worth the time. However, mountain peaks can be reached here too.
The difficult part of spending time with oneself to attain stillness, peace or deep contentment, is that layers of tiring, annoying, judgemental or impatient thoughts will be seen as one walks the path toward oneself inside.
You know yourself outside, you know many of your emotional patterns and personality patterns, yet truly knowing yourself involves understanding many other facets of who you are as well.
There is a freedom in knowing yourself that cannot be compared to material achievement. There is a beauty and peace in it that could be compared to sitting on a mountain peak and feeling at one with all that is. There is a harmony and joy in it that could be compared to a restful moment near your child as you relish in their uniqueness. Knowing yourself and the rest it provides is like watching the spiral path of the eagle and being lost in it. It is like the warm sun on your skin and the ocean air that you take in with that breath where all time has disappeared. There is peace, yet awe as well. A feeling of rightness with all that is.
These moments are the moments of oneness with God. Aligned to the Truth of your being.
Releasing the layers that keep you from that Aliveness and Beauty more moments of the day is the purpose of all inside healing.
Healing is Freedom.
Freedom is your nature.
Peace is waiting there inside.
Unconditional acceptance of yourself is there too.
Unwavering strength and the trust that comes with it.
You are worth seeking.
You are the only one to find.
To your unending freedom,
Alexandra
